John Carver Says He Would Have Been Sacked By A 'Normal Club' By Now
He's right, you know...
After eight defeats from the last eight games and only nine points picked up from a possible 48, John Carver spoke some sense at his press conference yesterday. The bewildering boss proclaimed that he was the best coach in the... Let's forget about that. He actually has gone on record as saying that if he were at a normal club he would have been sacked a long time ago. And we certainly can't argue with him. Absolutely nothing about Carver's five months in the top job has proved he is capable of managing at the highest level of the game. In fact, it wouldn't be a surprise to see this being Geordie John's last stint in football for some time. The legacy of working alongside Sir Bobby Robson that he has been living off for the past 11 years is certainly wearing thin. Here's what Carver had to say: Its not a normal situation. Ill tell you what a normal situation is.after five or six games, they would have said Theres your P45, youre fired. In Premier League management, that is what happens, but with all the circumstances going on here, thats not happened because they know the situation. That is why they are backing me. It is unclear what situation Carver is referring to here. All the fans know it's down to nothing more than owner Mike Ashley being unwilling to part with his precious cash to hire a bonafide manager. Carver continued: They have seen me working and what Im trying to do, what I have got. The amount of people whove said I must have run over a black catwell something is not right, I must just be one of those unlucky people but Im not going to walk away. No John, you're just not very good at your job. Anyone else would have been able to get more out of these players despite all the injury/suspension problems. The sooner you've left the club, the better it will be for all concerned. For all the latest NUFC News, Views and Transfers make sure to follow WhatCultureNUFC on Twitter and Facebook.
