The accident took place a little over a month prior to his tragic death, perhaps acting as a stark reminder that nothing is guaranteed.

After witnessing a car collide with another at over 65mph, Bryant can be seen on video blocking the road with his vehicle, making his way through smoke and assisting the victim in danger. He can be seen motioning to others to slow and stop, and acts as a conduit between the arriving officials and the victims having spent time with them ensuring they were safe and in good condition.
