League One: 10 Candidates For The Golden Boot

125 years The League One season got underway this weekend in an opening day packed with goals and surprises. The League One golden boot is one which will no doubt prove to be hotly contested and as Paddy Madden proved last season, it really can be anyone who walks away with the top prize come the start of May. League One this year has a varied mix of strikers, including old experienced players, young, hungry new players and players looking to replicate old form at former clubs. One things for sure, there will be plenty of goals in League One this year, here€™s my look at ten candidates for the golden boot€

10. Tom Pope

tom pope The Vale front man had the season of his life last year and looks set to continue this season. The former Crewe and Rotherham man was voted as League Two player of the year this summer after having scored 33 goals last season for The Valiants. His loyalty to home town club Vale will no doubt prove invaluable to them as they hope to maintain their place in the division and if Pope can find anywhere near the kind of form he showed last season he will certainly give them a fighting chance.
