Liverpool: Steven Gerrard's 10 Most Defining Moments

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D30vgS-8BWMGerrard missed most of the Champions League group stage games in the successful 2004/05 campaign with a foot injury, explaining, partially, why Liverpool were faced with such a difficult task to even advance into the knockout stages of the competition.
Liverpool simply had to win the game by two clear goals to advance, and after going in at the break 0-1 down, Gerrard said “I’d be lying if I thought we were going through when we were losing at half time”.
But in the second period, as per usual, he inspired a memorable comeback.
Goals from bit-part players Neil Mellor and Florent Sinama-Pongolle teed things up before, in the 86th minute and with time running out, the ball was set up deliciously for Gerrard to take aim 20 yards from goal.
What happened next sparked magical scenes.
Gerrard unleashed the most powerful of strikes into the top corner, sparking sheer delirium at The Kop End, accompanied by Andy Gray’s legendary commentary: “OH YA BEAUTY! WHAT A HIT SON! WHAT.. A.. HIT!”
Gerrard recalled after the game that he “caught it well, I haven’t caught one like that for ages”. This is what makes Gerrard such a great - not just being able to execute a shot that only a very select few could do, but also doing it when few others could, when tens of thousands of fans are relying on you and the pressure is at its highest.
