1. Rodgers' Ego
Although this might sound controversial, Rodgers have proved himself to be rather egotistical in his time as a Barclay's Premier League manager. Following Swansea's goalless draw with a poor Liverpool side in 2011, Rodgers claimed that the result symbolised "the birth of a Premier League team" - in contrast, the then-manager of Norwich who had held Liverpool to a draw said "we were worthy of a point". Rodgers is definitely one to blow his own trumpet and last week claimed Liverpool could finish in the top two of the Premier League having come off the back of two (yes, two!) consecutive wins. Something suggests to me that Brendan Rodgers would be too proud a man to sign a player that now only plays sporadically for Aston Villa. Also, having not reached top form this season, Bent could be seen as too much of a risk to sign. The bottom line is that Darren Bent will not be joining Liverpool - and he never will. Anyone who tells you differently has made a mistake somewhere along their line of reasoning.
