Man City Transfers: 5 Goalkeepers That Pellegrini Can Bring In To Replace Joe Hart

1. Julio Cesar (Queens Park Rangers)

A move that would certainly signify a short term fix is that of Brazilian keeper Julio Cesar, who has fallen out of favour at Championship side QPR despite enduring a first class campaign last season. Despite his heroics in goal however, he was not able to keep Harry Redknapp's side in the top flight, and dropped down to English football's second tier, where he is struggling to get a place in the team after recovering from finger surgery. The place has instead gone to Englishman Rob Green, and Cesar has been looking for a way out of the west London club for some time now. Several proposed switches have broken down for the player, who in the summer was linked with a transfer to Arsenal, but a move never materialised, leaving the Brazil international in the lurch. His determination to become Brazil's No.1 at their own World Cup next year will probably mean that he will leave in the January window, and Pellegrini could see him as a short term fix, or at least competition for Hart, and a bid could arrive from the Etihad. With unlimited resources however, the signing of Cesar could only be a short term solution to the goalkeeping problems, and another man would most likely be brought in in the summer if Hart still isn't convincing his manager. Do you think City will sign any goalkeeper in the January transfer window?
