5. David De Gea To Leave?

David De Gea has never really managed to settle at United since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2011. This season has been particularly difficult for him - he has found himself losing his number 1 spot to Anders Lindegaard and has only managed to keep three clean sheets this season, though you can't shoulder all of the blame for United's porous defence upon the Spaniard. He has made a number of gaffes this season however, most recently against Liverpool when he parried a shot into the path of Daniel Sturridge instead of pushing the ball out for a corner. This has led to speculation that Ferguson is, in the words of the Daily Mail at least, "ready to dump dodgy David de Gea and buy new keeper". The report suggests Ferguson is lining up either Stoke City€™s Asmir Begovic or Liverpool's Pepe Reina as a replacement. Likelihood? It seems a bit hasty for Ferguson to wash his hands of de Gea just less than two years after purchasing him from Atletico Madrid. At just 22, the Spaniard obviously has a bright future ahead of him, and Ferguson isn't one to ignore potential. Over the years he has made a habit of investing in youth. 5/10 Source(s): Mirror
