1. Karim Benzema
Manchester United could be in the market for another striker if Wayne Rooney's ongoing dispute with the club leads to his departure. The England striker was last week subject to
£26 million bid from Chelsea, which was rejected by the champions, though
ESPN claim a second one is coming. A second offer would seriously test United's resolve to keep hold of the 27-year-old. Chelsea's first offer was understood to have been £23 million plus a further £3 million in additional payments, and a new bid could be raised to be £30 million barrier - which is tempting considering the player's age. If United do sell, they could replace him with Karim Benzema, according to
The Sun. The paper claims United are weighing up a £30 million offer for the Real Madrid attacker should Rooney leave, and will use the cash from his sale to fund yet another move for the Frenchman. United first tried to land the 25-year-old in 2009, but Real outbid them by paying Lyon £35 million.
Now, the Red Devils could be set to renew their interest in a bid to keep up with City.
