2. A Proven Talent
Whereas one-time summer targets Ander Herrera and Daniele De Rossi lack Premier League pedigree, Cristiano Ronaldo is a proven talent in England. The former two would have bolstered United's midfield significantly but not more than Ronaldo, who would bring goals in abundance to the champions. United should abandon their pursuit of any other player and plough all their energies into bringing the prodigious Portugal international back to Old Trafford in January. During his six-seasons at the Theatre of Dreams, Ronaldo scored 118 times in 292 appearances and has proven that he is capable at adapting to the rigours of English football. The same cannot be said, for example, of Thiago Alcantara or Ander Herrera. United know what they're getting with Ronaldo, and it seems to us that there is only one player they should try to sign in January.
