Man Utd vs West Brom: 5 Reasons Why Red Devils HAVE To Win
4. Pressure On David Moyes
It was never going to be easy replacing someone like Sir Alex Ferguson, an icon in the world of football and won the majority of competitions offered his way. Over the era he managed United he oversaw a change of mentality and created an aura of superiority, power and control over the Premier League. Nearly every year his team were billed as favourites to win, that is no fluke or bookie mistake, Man United 'The Brand' were incredibly good. It was inevitable that one day Sir Alex would retire and pass his torch on to a young successor who would light the way and dictate the future of the red half of Manchester. Oh dear.. So far, not good for David Moyes. Don't get me wrong, at Everton he did a great job with the tools and resources at his disposal, slowly building the Goodison faithful a reputation of being great hosts who could play a great game of football. The fact remains though as my friend Steve would attest, Moyes never won any trophies at Everton, in fact his only silverware to date from a managerial career that spans 15 years is the Old Division Two title. I am not saying David Moyes isn't capable of winning trophies far from it, I am stating an obvious fact that at Manchester United he will be expected to win them and win them soon. Until then he needs to be seen as at least challenging for silverware which means getting 3 points against West Brom and staying in the title race is of great importance, how else can Red Devils hail their new boss as the new shining light leading them into the future. Being 8 points off top spot certainly won't do him any favours.
