Just 20 days after Fumaca had signed for Crystal Palace in 1999, Newcastle swooped for the Brazilian midfielder - only to let him leave a year later having realising he was utterly hopeless.

Labelled as "the only Brazilian in history unable to play football", Fumaca departed for Catuense having made just five Premier League appearances for the Magpies.

He "enjoyed" a playing career that took him to countries including Brazil, Germany, the Czech Republic, as well as England, but he failed to really make an impression anywhere. Unsurprisingly he has never been capped for the Selecao...
