10. Preseason Results Mean Nothing, But The Performances Do
It's the old cliche you've heard a million times: "preseason means nothing." To a certain extent that's true, though it's more the results that are meaningless. The Jags defeated the Steelers, the Broncos toppled the Seahawks, and the Redskins actually won a game. That's not to say any of those teams and going to be on fire this season, and the results are little more than confidence boosters. However, saying individual performances are pointless is naive. Team lineups are often a shuffled pack, and of course many starting quarterbacks aren't subjected to long stretches in preseason to avoid a costly injury. But which players excelled, and which teams looked short?
