NFL Draft: 5 Sleepers That Could Become Stars

1. Lawrence Okoye- DT/DE/LB- Britain

Here is the definition of boom or bust, sleeper pick. He hasn't touched a college football, rather, a rugby ball and discus. He and Lattimore are the two guys I will follow closely once they begin their NFL journeys. With the lack of stats he has nothing to point to. However, he is an absolute freak of nature. Ever since Javon Kearse (The original freak) we have seen many 'freaks', Megatron and Peterson are two of which. But, a defensive freak is another animal. He is a monster at 6'6" and 305 pounds. It is all muscle. He gets that big body moving at an incredible 4.7 seconds, nearly as fast as Ray-Ray who weighs nearly 100 pounds less. He measured a 10'5" broad jump and a big time 35" vertical leap. Those are just stupid good numbers for a defensive player, especially one that weighs 305 pounds. His mental capability is clear also, he had a scholarship to attend the prestigious Oxford University. His physical prowess can be on display for the simple fact that he was an Olympian and a rugby player (What's Rugby? This is American Football). The question surrounding him is, how does this translate to a D-Lineman? This physicality would, you would hope, allow him to become a 305 pound wreaking ball on the line. I think he could learn a playbook, nothing compared to being Oxford educated. And the concept of football isn't entirely hard to grasp. He can do it, I think? The potential is endless, and the physical ability is just as endless. Unfortunately for front office officials, so are the question marks. He has the ability to become a Hall-of-Famer, but, at the same time, he can fall flat onto his face. He was once valued as an undrafted flyer of a pick, since then he has began a creep up big boards. Now, he is valued as a 6-7th rounder. I don't see the 6th round coming into play, but hey, who knows. We did see the Raiders pick Darrius Heyward-Bey. Ha! But, who will he go to? I only see two major options for the young stud. The 49ers, who seemingly will draft endless amounts of players, and the Giants of New York. The 9ers have an amazing defense, they don't necessarily need a new guy, however, what the heck does it hurt. They have four 7th round picks and have the Smith Brothers for him to learn from. A guy like Pat Willis will also aid in his learning curve. The Giants love these types of players; Tuck, Strahan, Osi, JPP, and so on and so forth. He would be another cog for Coughlin up in Big Blue. Any number of teams could take a chance, he is a unique talent in a dull league. You always want the next best thing. He won't hit the open market, he will be drafted.
