One Player That Would Improve Every Premier League Team Next Season
3. West Ham - Ben White
Another underwhelming season that had promised so much for West Ham, but importantly they survived. The strange thing about West Ham is on paper they have a talented squad that is just not quite performing so it is tough to pick a stand-out weakness, but it is arguably at CB.
West Ham's reliance on Declan Rice in midfield, also their best CB, has left the talented but reckless Issa Diop exposed at the back. Balbuena has flattered to deceive next to him at times, and what Diop needs is a calming presence who can do a job. Brighton's Ben White certainly fits the bill.
The CB was an absolute revelation on loan at Leeds this season, a composed and elegant defender who is also happy to do the dirty work. White would add a sense of tranquility to an often panicked West Ham backline. White is also an exceptional ball playing CB but, more than that, a brilliant defender who could finally be the answer to West Ham's long-standing issues.
