Premier League 2013/14: 5 Potential Underachievers
One of the most eagerly awaited seasons is now underway, with the return of Mourinho at Chelsea, the end of Ferguson's era at United and fresh new talent costing over £365 million-and-counting. Many questions captivate the hardcore football fan coming into the next campaign - who will United sign? Will Bale leave Spurs? Can Mourinho find success at Chelsea once again? Many ponder who will exceed expectations, however there is the potential for a club which has high expectations to do very poorly indeed. Last season, Newcastle United were one of the prime examples - many claimed they would be able to finish in the top 6, however their fate was disappointing 16th place. Likewise, QPR were claimed to be a potential top half side and ended the season rock bottom despite spending heaps of money on foreign talent. This article will look at five clubs who may not do as well as many believe they will. This may be based on new arrivals, poor form or merely skepticism - and the likelihood is that I will get all five wrong and look very stupid at the end of the season.
