Everton - Kevin Mirallas
Everton will be going through a period of transition this season, as the era of David Moyes in charge has ended, which saw the club rise from being stuck in the bottom half of the table into a club that was regularly challenging for Champions League football. The new man at the helm, Roberto Martinez, is reasonably successful in his tenures at Swansea and Wigan, and though his final season at Wigan ended in relegation, he has still won more trophies in his career than his predecessor. However, I still question whether he will be able to bring the same level of success to Everton, as despite the FA Cup victory, he has yet to prove that he is able to be a tactical mastermind. Certainly during his time at Wigan, the club didn't progress in the League and eventually collapsed after constantly having to fight relegation under his management. Having said that, this will be a definite period of change for the club, and it will be understandable if they don't finish at the same heights that they reached last year. But, they have managed to hold onto some of their best players such as Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, which will serve them in good stead for a successful season, and have added to the club from Marinez's former club, recruiting Arouna Kone and Antolin Alcaraz from Wigan. But, as Moyes had to contend with, the club is continually functioning on a limited budget, and so until they get further investment a top six finish is the very best they could hope for. While Fellaini and Baines have been performing excellently for the past few seasons to the point that they are being linked with top clubs in England and across Europe, another player that made an excellent impression by the end of the campaign was Kevin Mirallas, another indication that Belgium is taking over the Premier League. Despite a few niggling injuries that disturbed his progress at the beginning of his time at the club, the young and rapid winger scored a fantastic brace in Moyes' last game in charge of the club, and seemed to become more heavily integrated into the Premier League style. And with only a single season under his belt and playing for a club that shouldn't feel too heavily pressured for success, he will likely continue to steadily improve, and I would tip Mirallas to be one of the stars of the season. He has a boundless potential, and almost certainly by the end of this year (if his end-of-season performances are any indication) become another Everton player that is linked with a host of Champions League clubs. Where will they finish? - 7th
