Premier League: 5 Biggest Talking Points From Last Weekend's Games

3. Another Potential Spurs Slip

At the start of March everything was looking good for Spurs, well clear of Arsenal and baring down on second place looking for their highest ever Premier League finish. Then having dismantled Inter Milan in the first leg looking to win the giant once considered unnecessary silverware of the Europa League finally it looked like Spurs would finally grow into a top title challenging club. The pre-season target of getting Champions League football looked a real possibility until Spurs started to have jitters and a little wobble of form. Three defeats on the run have Spurs fans more than a little worried dropping 6 points from two easily winnable league games. In Milan they had a near disaster winning the tie but forced to win on away goals in extra time having been brought back from three nil up to drawing with the Italian club. Several Spurs fans are reaching for the panic button as around this time last year Spurs suffered a similar turn of fortune. Last year Spurs were flying high in 3rd again ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea looking good for a return to the Champions League when around March they suffered a massive loss of form. Their exciting young well drilled team pretty much flew off the rails and from a nailed on 3rd place barely scrapped 4th. To add further insult to their alarming collapse Chelsea stuck in and won the Champions league reducing all of Spurs season long hard work for 4th a pointless failing. Last year Spurs had the luck of an average Kardashian husband and really no one would like to see that run of bad luck happen again apart from any Arsenal fans obviously. Hopefully this small falter will dry up as it would be a cruel blow added on top of the many Spurs have suffered in the race to get amongst Europe€™s elite. Spurs deserve it however they have an excellent team with great players in every position also with AVB have a boss that has cleared his reputation after his Chelsea nightmare. Of course Tottenham also have the skill of Gareth Bale so Champions League football is always a possibility.
