Of course, the one stand-out performer from the Premier League so far this season has been Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge. There were concerns at the beginning of the campaign as to where the goals were going to come from with Luis Suarez suspended until the end of this month, but those fears were allayed by some terrific performances from Sturridge. The ex-Chelsea man has scored 14 times in 18 appearances since moving from Stamford Bridge and has been an absolute revelation on Merseyside. His goal-celebration, "Riding the Wave", has delighted fans and he has been given ample opportunities to perform it in that he has scored in all of Liverpool's Premier League games so far this season. He also scored the only goal of the game in a crucial win over champions Manchester United at the start of the season, which only served to cement his already firm fan base at Anfield. It was quite telling how laborious England looked against the Ukraine with Sturridge absent through injury and the 24-year-old looks as though he is going to become an essential player for both club and country.
