Spurs 2-0 Norwich: 5 Things We Learned

3. Danny Rose Can Step It Up

Well, my own personal opinion of Danny Rose changed in this match and I'm sure a few other people's did as well. Don't get me wrong, I always thought Rose was a decent player and I bet that 99% of Sunderland fans would snap Tottenham's hands off if they were to let him move to the Stadium of Light on a permanent basis, but I wasn't convinced about his ability to perform at the level of a club wanting to be in the Champions League. I was wrong not to be. Rose was outstanding against Norwich. He was constantly lively, he was a threat going forward, his passing was decent and, most importantly, his defending was immaculate - something that had previously concerned me, especially after the failure to sign someone of the calibre of Fabio Coentrao and the loaning out of Benoit Assou-Ekotto. It's only one game, but I'm starting to think that Rose could be a star this season.
