Spurs: 5 Players Who Could Benefit From A Cup Run

2. Etienne Capoue

At the time of writing Capoue is still out injury after being stretched off with an ankle sprain in the North London Derby on 1 September and would reportedly be out for four weeks. Copoue, despite being included in the first three games of the season, has now missed over a month of action for Tottenham, during which time Paulinho and Mousa Dembele have managed to form a partnership in midfield which is keeping Sandro out of the team. When Capoue returns he is likely to join Sandro on the bench as the on-field partnership between Dembele and Paulinho grows, meaning that he could be restricted largely to substitute appearances. If this is the case, Capoue is more likely to play in cup matches as part of his comeback from injury, whilst also being included in AVB's squad rotation policy in his attempt to win silverware and challenge for the top four, meaning he might be able to stake a claim for his own starting berth.
