Spurs: 5 Valid Reasons They're Not Just A One-Man Team

3. Performances Without Bale

Gareth Bale You only have to look to the occasions that Spurs have played league matches this term without Gareth Bale to see that he isn't the only player they rely on. Without Bale in the team, Spurs have won their last 2 matches - most recently in a very convincing 3-1 home victory against Reading and before that a 1-0 win at home to Swansea. Prior to that, in the only other 2 games Spurs have played without Bale in the league, was a 2-1 defeat away at Everton (a match in which Spurs were leading until the dying seconds) who were unbeaten at home at the time and have only lost once at home all season (a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea) and an unfortunate 4-2 home defeat to Chelsea who were flying high and undefeated at the time, in a match Spurs dominated with 23 shots to Chelsea's 11. So it's clear to see that Spurs can score (as they have done in every match without him), win (as they have done in 50% of their matches without him) and compete (as they have done in every match without him) without Bale in the team.
