Spurs Best Overseas XI Of The Premier League Era

6. Left Wing: David Ginola

Ginola joined Spurs in 1997 and won his only trophy in English football with the club in the 1999 League Cup final.

He was a spectacular performer in a Spurs shirt he was named as the PFA Players€™ Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year during his time at White Hart Lane - despite the fact Spurs were generally under-performing in the league while he was there. The Frenchman also scored one of the most memorable goals of modern times as a Lilywhite, when his jinking run past half of the Barnsley team ended with him finishing crisply in to the left side of the net in a 1999 FA Cup tie.

All in all, Ginola spent three years at Spurs, playing 100 games in the Premier League €“ all of which came from the start €“ and scoring thirteen league goals. He also played 27 times in other competitions and he is generally known as one of the best and most exciting performers to have turned out for the club in recent times. Therefore, he easily makes the left wing slot his own - especially given that there have hardly been any other notable overseas left wingers for Spurs in the Premier League years.
