Spurs Best Overseas XI Of The Premier League Era

7. Right Back: Stephen Carr

Tottenham€™s most reliable right back of the Premier League era, in terms of defensive ability and commitment, has undoubtedly been Irishman Stephen Carr. Only Kyle Walker has really rivalled him in terms of quality and regularity and, since Walker is English, Carr gets the place in this team.

Carr was a product of Tottenham€™s youth system and he spent the majority of his career with the club, playing 270 times - 226 of which were in the Premier League - between 1993 and 2004 and scoring 8 goals. Carr memorably scored a thunderous long-distance goal against Manchester United in the 1999-2000 season, which was his best season for the club.

He was a member of the team who won the 1999 League Cup final win over Leicester City and, whilst with Spurs, was twice named in the PFA Team of the Year.

His ferocious and tenacious on-field attitude made him a crowd favourite at White Hart Lane.
