Spurs Transfers: 5 Southampton Players Mauricio Pochettino Should Sign For Tottenham

4. Adam Lallana

The 2013/14 season was a brilliant one for Adam Lallana. It saw him to develop into an England international and a target for many of the Premier League€™s top clubs. Such is the level of his growth, that Lallana may now even find himself being a starter for England€™s first game at the World Cup against Italy on June 14. The interest from England€™s top sides is understandable. In many ways, Lallana is the ideal Premier League midfielder. He is very versatile, as shown by his ability to play on either flank or even behind the striker. The 26-year-old is one of the rare, genuinely two footed players, making him incredibly hard to defend against. Last season€™s performances saw Lallana add goals to his game. He netted 9 league goals over the course of the campaign, triple the amount he managed during the 2012/13 season. It led to him being named in the PFA Team of the Year, along with fellow Southampton star Luke Shaw. Prior to Pochettino€™s appointment, it had been thought that Lallana would be heading to Liverpool. However, Tottenham now appear keen on stealing the England international away from Anfield. Lallana would certainly add quality to the Spurs midfield. His nibble footwork and eye for a pass would undoubtedly compliment the talents of playmaker Christian Eriksen. Lallana was Pochettino€™s captain at St. Mary€™s and a reunion could be a possibility.
