Chants of Danny, Danny Rose merrily rang around the Stadium of Light during the Tottenham mans years loan with Sunderland. Brought in by Martin ONeill, the young wide man was initially seen by fans as questionable business, too many seeing him as a winger. However, Harry Redknapp had already changed Rose into a left wing back before his stint on Wearside completed his transformation into a top class left back. After the first few weeks, Rose blossomed for Sunderland as a genuine bright spark. His ability to recover in defensive situations with both pace and strength was impressive. His pedigree as a winger also showed bombing forward down the left hand side to give another outlet in attack. If he was to keep that level of performance up surely international honours for England would call, which, in fact could have ultimately been Sunderlands downfall. Spurs had a regular full back and a consistent one, but despite interest to make Rose a permanent fixture at the Stadium of Light, Danny boy had proved too good a prospect to let go. Rose spoke of a fondness for the Black Cats supporters, certainly if the chance arose to sign him in future Sunderland would happily take it.
