8. Kieran Richardson (2007-2012) - 14 Goals

Though signed as a young winger from Manchester United, Richardson found himself utilised all over during his five years with Sunderland - including at left-back and in 'the hole'. Similarly to Defoe, Richardson's finest Premier League goal arguably came against Newcastle - a rocket of a free-kick that sent the Stadium of Light into raptures. The winger, full-back or whatever he actually was managed 14 goals in total after being signed by Roy Keane in 2007, ranking him as Sunderland's 8th highest-scoring Premier League player of all time.
