The NBA Season 2015-2016: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

7. The Kings Are Dead, Long Live The Kings

A moment, please, for the passing of the Sacramento Kings. Yes, they're technically still a basketball team who are apparently planning to play the full year but if their offseason is anything to go by, their complete demise as a franchise is just around the corner. Last season, their record was 29-53, meaning only 5 teams won fewer games than them (and at least one of those franchises is actively tanking). It could get worse this year. While low-ranking teams like the Lakers and the Timberwolves made positive offseason moves that should lead to better records this time around, the Kings may as well have set fire to their arena. The team has long been notorious for clashes between players and front office and this came to a head this offseason when the bad blood between coach George Karl and star player DeMarcus "Boogie" Cousins became public knowledge. Rather than attempting to tamp down the crazy, the team has added point guard Rajon Rondo to the mix, a player with such a bad attitude that he was benched during the playoffs last year. So why is this exciting for casual fans? Because Boogie is angry and Rondo has something to prove and the team generally will be hanging on for dear life. Should make for an electric fiasco.
