UFC: 10 Biggest Prospects

2. John Lineker

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7EWaAaoFumo John Lineker would probably be ranked 9 or 10 in this list had it not been for his performance over Asamat Gashimov. Though Gashimov is hardly an elite opponent, the way in which Lineker went about his business was brutal to say the least. His Hands of Stone moniker is very fitting and his hands are easily the most powerful in the Flyweight division. Though Lineker lost his first UFC fight against Louis Gaudinot, he has since shown why many hardcore fans were delighted by the news he signed with the promotion. Notching up a record of 21-6, Lineker has a vast amount of experience - mainly in his native Brazil - and to add to this the fact that he is just 23 years old is quite incredible. With a fight of the night in his first performance and a knockout which would have won him bonus money on most cards, excitement is something that goes hand-in-hand with the Brazilian despite many fans voicing their disapproval towards the 125lbs division, labelling it "boring". A won or two may be all it takes for Hands of Stone to fight for the belt due to the lack of contenders and, ultimately, lack of fighters in the Flyweight division. Because of this, the options are very limited and although a fight with Joseph Benavidez would make sense from a rankings standpoint, it would ultimately eliminate one title hopeful from a division that is lacking in them. A fight with Ian McCall could make sense, but Dodson would be a more impressive name to build upon as he managed to rock the current champion in his last fight and has looked impressive since cutting to 125. Preferred next fight: John Dodson
