UFC 148 Silva vs Sonnen II: 5 Reasons Why Silva Will Destroy Sonnen

3. He Has Never Been This Motivated

Chael Sonnen has got to Anderson Silva; there is no doubt about it. Some will say this is a good strategy and the fact that he has got into Silva€™s head will be an advantage. I disagree. Having the best fighter in the world angry and motivated to hurt you is not a position that I think will be beneficial to your well being inside the Octagon. Sonnen obviously wants Silva to be aggressive in order to get close to him and secure the takedown but I think this strategy will backfire drastically. We all know what an unmotivated Anderson Silva looks like (see Silva v Maia or Silva v Coté) but this time it€™s different; this time it€™s personal. Anderson Silva has never seemed this motivated and I believe the true martial artist in him will come out. He will channel his anger effectively and will pick Sonnen apart from the outside and if the fight does go to the ground he is more than able to submit him.
