7. This Has Happened Before
This is not Jon Jones first run in with the law, and it's not the first time he's been involved in a wreck. Back in May 2012, Jones famously found himself in hot water after he crashed his Bentley into a utility pole in New York - while under the influence. He suffered only minor injuries, and was charged with Driving Under the Influence. No other vehicles were involved. Jones escaped jail time for the incident, but was fined $1,000 and forced to install ignition interlocks on all of his vehicles - a device which prevents the car from being started if the driver is under the influence. Interestingly enough, in this week's incident, Jones was in a rental vehicle. That's not the only crash issues with Jones either - in 2011 he was involved with a head-on collision with another car in New Mexico, and was in two multi-car vehicle accidents in New York in 2008 and 2009. He was only charged in the 2009 incident - for unsafe passing.
