The Hawthorns is officially the highest ground in England, in terms of feet above sea level. It stands a proud 551 feet above sea level, though there's not much impact on seeing the football, or indeed "enjoying" the surrounding area. Perhaps the thinner air is why they're so fond of all that Boing Boinging? The stadium - named after the hawthorn bushes that covered the area the stadium was built on when the club moved there from Stoney Lane - also holds the record as the last ground in the league to have been built in the 19th Century.
