£15 million move to Anfield from Aston Villa in the first place. If Downing can strengthen the relationship with Andy Carroll, it could certainly be a good season for both men. Whittingham has been consistently named for the past few seasons as one of the
best outside the Premiership. Now at the age of 28 and in the prime of his career, he finally has the chance to prove himself as a top performer at the highest level. Cardiff's favourite number seven is definitely one to watch this season if he, like Downing, can replicate the form of seasons past.
