What If These 10 NBA Legends Were Drafted Earlier?

9. Isiah Thomas

Isiah Thomas, the leader of the "Bad Boys" and the biggest enemy of the Greatest Basketball Player. He is arguably one of the greatest ever Point Guard in the 1980"s. His behaviour and the way that he plays basketball was questionable but his talent was definitely respected by everyone. He led his team to two championship wins in 1989 and 1990 and he was the finals MVP in the 1990 Nba finals. However, he was not selected in the first overall pick as the Dallas Maverick selected Mark Aguirre. It was definetly a big mistake for the Mavericks so what if the Mavericks picked Isiah Thomas?

Would It Have Affected His Legacy?

Although Isiah Thomas was a highly talented player and one of the greatest passer in the world, his success was majorly depended on his teammates that he had such as, Joe Dumars. He would of been great but he would of not been a legend. The chances of him winning the title once if he went to the Mavericks was low as they never had a good star that Isiah Thomas could work with. Yes, Isiah's personal accolades would have been greater but he would never ever be a champion. Championship ring counts more than anything else. But the most important thing is that Michael Jordan would have maybe won more championships. It was the bad boys that delayed the bull's dynasty but more it was Isiah Thomas stopping Michael Jordan to be the man that early. If Isiah went to the Mavericks, his legacy would be less important.
