Women's FIFA World Cup: 10 Players To Look Out For

2. Megan Rapinoe (USA)

Two-time champions USA enter this summer€™s tournament as the overwhelming favourites to finally end a 16-year wait for title number three and it€™s hard to single out one player to keep an eye out for. However, captain Megan Rapinoe is probably the one who could make or break USWNT€™s chances of glory. Jillian Ellis€™ squad is bursting with talent all over the pitch, with superstars Hope Solo, Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan amongst the handful of household names in women€™s football. Nonetheless, the skipper is the one that makes the team tick and regular provides the ammunition for Wambach and Morgan to thrive. Rapinoe is also the first person to score directly from a corner at the Olympics, following the first of two phenomenal goals against Canada en route to gold at London 2012. Her second strike from distance was arguably even better and if she can replicate those magical moments over the next few weeks then it€™s hard to see past USA for the title.
