World Cup 2018: 10 Players Who Don't Deserve To Be Going Home
5. Aleksandar Mitrović
He was a little wasteful with his finishing from time to time, but Aleksandar Mitrović can look back on his World Cup with a lot of pride. His work rate was absolutely phenomenal, and even when he missed a few chances, he got right back up and just kept going.
Having spent most of last season with Fulham in the Championship, it must have been pretty intimidating for the 23-year-old to be asked to lead the line for Serbia at the World Cup against some of the best players on the planet. However, Mitrović took to the tournament like a duck to water, showing no fear in any of his side's games and scoring a good header against Switzerland in the second match.
Even when he was up against Brazil, Mitrović worked as hard as he could to get into good positions and try to make things happen for his side, having four shots in total. He had six shots against the Swiss and another four against Costa Rica. Despite being repeatedly targeted by opposition defenders, he used his strength and awareness to become a great focal point for his team's attacks and can head home as one of Serbia's star men.
