19 Things We Learned From Steve McClaren's BBC Radio Newcastle Interview
9. Steve Wants To See Good Football
Steve wants to do things 'the Newcastle way'...
"I like pace. I like one-on-ones. I want to be excited when I'm sat there. I want to come and watch my team actually play. "I've had some teams where it's like pulling your own teeth out at times. I don't want that! I want excitement. I want a team that in whatever game Phwoah (sexual noise) is going to excite me, is going to please the crowd, is going to play in a way that phwoah (more sexual noises), yeah! "In time, we're going to build a team that the fans want to come and watch and we're always going to be in games, but we're always going to get two or three players that are very exciting, who can get you off your seat, who can beat players, who can create. And that's the kind of balance we're looking for."
It's almost sounds like he grew up supporting Newcastle United. Very encouraging signs indeed!
