10 Huge Revelations You Missed From Star Trek: Prodigy
2. Canon Character Callbacks
Aside from the story arcs, new ships, and snappy dialogue, Prodigy has updated us on the career paths of a couple of established characters from TNG.
Appearing in Crossroads, and the subsequent Masquerade, Thadiun Okona proves that leopards can't change their spots ,with Billy Campbell reprising the role. Okona first appeared back in TNG's The Outrageous Okona followed by a mute cameo in Lower Decks' An Embarrassment of Dooplers as a party DJ. His third appearance in Prodigy manages to drop in the events of his TNG appearance in passing and none of that charismatic rogue has been lost over the years.
Another alumnus to speak once more is Ronny Cox's Edward Jellico. Finished with implementing a four-shift rotation and chewing out Riker in Chain of Command, Admiral Jellico manages to chomp through Vice-Admiral Janeway's requests twice (Grounded and Masquerade) with just about as much grace as he did before. Jellico leaves her in no doubt as to who's in charge on his watch.
