9 Ups and 2 Downs. That's the score we gave Star Trek: Resurgence. It's the adventure game that brought back the Centaur-class (your other half will be losing their mind), and gave us an eerily good version of Ambassador Spock, voiced by Piotr Michael, alongside the ever everywhere (and we still can't get enough) Captain Riker/Jonathan Frakes.

As we highlight in our original review of Resurgence, it’s the story and the characters that make this game well worth the purchase at around £30.00. Above all, you'll play it for the adventure, taking on the roles of first officer Jara Rydek and engineer Carter Diaz in order to, as the game's website puts it, "prevent an eons-old and powerful force from engulfing everything in its wake!" However, if the fan in your life is used to the likes of Cyberpunk 2077, you might just want to temper their expectations when it comes to the graphics!

Editor - Stay tuned for the video version of this list, we have 10 codes to giveaway!

Aimed at the younger generation of fan in your life, although by no means exclusively, you might also consider picking up a copy of Star Trek Prodigy: Supernova, available on a wide array of platforms including the Nintendo Switch. Supernova is a puzzle-based game, centred on the conceit of a malfunctioning transporter that sends the crew of the Protostar to three different alien worlds. Definitely more for the grown-ups, and playable on Steam, Star Trek: Infinite is another alternative from 2023 for those who prefer games of strategy involving various alien powers from the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.
