10 Ships We Need To See In Star Trek: Legacy

9. USS Pasteur/Olympic Class

All Good Things... included a jump 25 years into the potential future of The Next Generation. Star Trek: Picard travelled further than this and, while devoid of a conflict with the Klingons, other factors should be upheld.

One of those is an appearance by an Olympic Class starship. In Picard's third season, Doctor Crusher did get herself a medical ship to command but it wasn't through Starfleet and it wasn't the USS Pasteur.

A ship inspired by Matt Jefferies' initial sketches for the classic Enterprise of The Original Series, and borrowing heavily from the Daedalus-class ships, the USS Pasteur remains the only ship with a spherical primary hull displayed on screen.

The closest depiction, outside of All Good Things, is the model of the USS Horizon, the aforementioned Daedalus-class ship, displayed in Sisko's office on DS9.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
