10 2000s Superhero Cartoons Fans Shouldn't Ignore
8. Batman: The Brave And The Bold
Brave and the Bold was a cartoon that walked a fine line between the Batman of the past and the Batman of the present. The show was ambitious, with an energetic tone that made the DC Universe look like a fun and jolly place to live in.
As beholden to the Silver Age as the show was, there were some moments that you would think belonged in the much darker Batman: The Animated Series, as characters such as Equinox and the Spectre highlighted some of the sinister sections of the Dark Knight’s life.
The Dark Knight (voiced by Diedrich Bader) was joined by a new ally every episode, making no two adventures the same. This show dug deep into the mythos of DC history, giving us characters as well known as Superman, but at the same time showcasing heroes and villains that wouldn’t normally get their chance in the spotlight, like Captain Atom.
However, the stand out character has to be John DiMaggio’s larger than life take on an egotistical but loveable Aquaman. With his infectious bellows demanding the attention of the audience, you can’t help but fall in love with the King of the Seven Seas. Outrageous!
