9. Kat Dennings - 2 Broke Girls
Oh dear. Where do we start with 2 Broke Girls and Kat Dennings' character, Max Black? Well, first there's the show's offensively forced and pointless tirade of big-boob jokes, ass jokes and sexual innuendos - actually, they're not so much innuendos as they are just overtly sexual references. After that we have Kat's over-cooked stereotype of the sarky "don't-take-no-stick-from-no-one" bad girl with a tough upbringing, and then the other one (Carol Channing, played by Beth Behrs) is just super annoying. It just seems like the show lazily clings on to the easiest, cheapest form of comedy to wrench laughs across viewers of all demographics, being so general and inoffensive as to appeal to the greatest number of people. But it wasn't always that way for Kat. She's appeared in a number of quality movies, both Indie and mainstream: in 40 Year Old Virgin, for example, she does well as the frustrated teen who just wants to shag her boyfriend. In lesser-known realms, she's given good performances in more independent stuff like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Daydream Nation and Charlie Bartlett. She can be discreet, thoughtful, subtle - pretty much the opposite of her character in 2 Broke Girls. Quit hiding, Kat. We know you're there.
