2. Taylor Momsen - Gossip Girl
According to a statement made by the Taylor Momsen team, Taylor left to pursue her music career but to the fans of the hit TV show, her departure could not have come sooner.
While other members of the cast found their breakthrough roles through the show, Momsen came to the realisation that maybe acting wasn't the thing for her. Taylor landed the role of Jenny Humphrey when she was just 14. Known for her role in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, by the time this young star sent her portfolio in for Gossip Girl in 2007, her acting history was already enough to land her the role. Unfortunately this meant that viewers had to suffer through four seasons of her acting.
Bad acting wasn't the only reason this young actress left the show. Although her acting may have been lacking, her looks were enough to get her signed to a modelling agency and have her noticed by Madonna. Soon her musical career was taking off, so it was one or the other for this budding star. After filming an episode with guest star Tim Gunn, the actor went off and said some horrible things about the young actress and her talent or lack thereof. Her beef with co-star Gunn was enough, and the young musician said goodbye to her school blazer and tie.
