Oh, Jane the Virgin. Come season five, you got some major 'splainin' to do.

The main narrative of the early seasons of the show may have been about how a virgin was accidentally artificially inseminated, but the heart of the show was always the love triangle between Jane, her baby-daddy Raphael, and her long-time boyfriend Michael (Brett Dier). So when, at the end of season two, Jane and Michael finally got married, team Michael fans had a lot to celebrate, right?

Not exactly. Michael was shot in the final moments of the season, and though season three initially fooled viewers into thinking he was fine, he unceremoniously died of gunshot wound-related heart failure in the middle of the season.

This was a HUGE moment for the show, leading to a time-jump for the narrative of four years and completely flipping the script of the entire show.

So, it was more than a bit shocking to see a scruffy-looking Michael suddenly return in the final moments of season four.
