10 Actors You Didn't Know Were In Star Trek Twice
7. Peter Weller
Peter Weller played the true villain of Star Trek Into Darkness, the nefarious Admiral Marcus who conspired to trigger a war with the Klingons using genetically modified super soldier Khan Noonien-Singh. He was later killed by his supposed ally, which was karma for making a deal with one of Star Trek's most notorious villains.
However, this was actually the second appearance by Peter Weller in the Star Trek universe. He had previously appeared in Enterprise, during its poorly received fourth season. In the face of dwindling ratings, Enterprise aired a two-parter that focused on a pivotal moment in Star Trek history. The Coalition of Planets was a precursor to the Federation, but not everyone on Earth wanted to become a part of it.
Peter Weller played John Frederick Paxton, a xenophobic politician who used his influence to rise through the ranks as a fascist leader who rejected the utopian ideals that would later found the Federation. Paxton hijacked the Enterprise and threatened to destroy Starfleet Command unless all aliens left Earth.
As Enterprise was cancelled shortly after the final episodes of season 4, not many people may have been aware of Weller's other villain role in Star Trek, but it's an interesting political thriller set in the early stages of the Federation's birth.
