10 Awesome Cyborgs in TV History

1. The Borg - Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994)

I assume I don't have to tell you about the Borg, correct? Well just in case someone reading this has never seen Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Borg are a race of hive-mind cyborgs in the Star Trek universe. Actually, calling them a "race" of cyborgs is a bit misleading. The Borg assimilate every sentient race they encounter into their hive, or "collective", in order to acquire technology with the ultimate goal of becoming perfect beings. The collective consists of innumerable emotionless, robotic beings whose humanity, for lack of a better term, has been taken away and replaced with cybernetic implants. Each of the newly-created cyborgs is then connected to the hive mind of the Borg. This effectively removes all traces of individuality from the "assimilated" being. In the Star Trek series of television shows and movies, several individuals have successfully been removed from the Borg collective and resumed life as an individual, most notably Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise (who became Locutus in STNG) and the previously-mentioned Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager. That's it for me. There are a LOT more cyborgs that didn't make my list. Many of them are outside my self-imposed Laws, but it can be argued that they are indeed cyborgs. I'm sure you have a few more favorites. I'd love to hear about them in the comments.
