10 Awful Seasons That Killed Great TV Shows

9. The Walking Dead – Season 6

Most people can pinpoint the moment that they decided to give up on the Walking Dead, however season six marked the start of a very steep decline for the show. The episodes see the group of survivors falling into routine life around the zombie apocalypse in the town of Alexandria and recreating some sort of order. After an attack on their last home in the prison that killed major characters and split the cohort into separate groups, mundane normality was forming.

With this writers began to create monotonous storylines and character inconsistencies in order to grasp on to some level of excitement while clinging on to major characters. The icing on the cake for many was the season finale in which new villain Negan set his sights on killing a member of the group.

The show left on a cliffhanger with one character receiving a barb-wired bat to the face but their identity was hidden to the audience. This was a clear indicator of the lack of confidence the show had in killing a main character and thus marked the start of tired, safe story writing.
