7. Sock And Josie (Reaper)
Reaper was an under-watched show on the CW about a guy who works for the Devil and sends errant souls back to hell. It was admittedly derivative (it shared a lot in common with the villain of the week and big bad format of Buffy and the aforementioned Chuck) but it was appealing enough to last for two seasons of silly fun. But like most comedy shows centered on guys who aren't serious enough about their lives, Reaper had some pretty godawful relationships, most of them involving the character played by Tyler Labine. Labine played a Jack Black type who exuded confidence and energetic charisma despite being overweight, and he showed on several occasions that he could be a good friend. But his on-again, off-again relationship with his sweetheart Josie reeked of forced TV coupling. For one, Josie was an intelligent and attractive woman who had a good job at the district attorney's office, and his name was Sock. That's pretty much all I have to say. The dude's name was Sock. He was immature, almost always sported a bad haircut, and he was not attractive enough to be appealing to Josie who was seen having more attractive boyfriends. Yet another case of having a more ridiculous relationship between side characters to distract the audience from an unequal relationship at the heart of the show.
