10 Behind-The-Scenes Joe Rogan Experience Facts

8. JRE Has Increased Spotify's Share Price By 111%

Some eyebrows were raised at the sheer size of Spotify's outlay on securing the rights to the Joe Rogan Experience. The deal is worth $100m, which is the equivalent of 26 billion songs streamed for musicians paid through Spotify's traditional payment model. For reference that's around the number of all of Ed Sheeran's streams for the last 8 years.

Despite the eye-watering numbers involved, this is increasingly appearing like a shrewd acquisition. Since the partnership was first announced in May 2020, Spotify's share price has more than doubled from $161.43 to $340.77. JRE may not be the sole reason behind this but it is certainly a very strong driving factor, given that the price rose by more than $55 in the week after the show became exclusive to Spotify alone.

Spotify are benefiting not only from capturing a new audience, with at least a percentage of fans of the show migrating from YouTube, they have also raised the profile of the company and redefined the limits of the company's ambition by bringing in the world's most popular podcast.
