10 Best American Horror Story Characters
5. Dandy Mott
Dandy Mott is such a brilliantly twisted character, and in Finn Wittrock the show proved they could still add valuable new talent to sit comfortably alongside their regular roster.
A little like the Targaryens in Game Of Thrones, Edward Phillippe Mott in Roanoke confirmed that madness had always ran through the Mott bloodline. Similar to his ancestor Edward, Dandy is incredibly awkward around people. This, combined with a warped upbringing, his wealth and his spoiled nature makes Dandy Mott possibly the least well adjusted character in the show’s run. It’s the reason why, despite his good looks, he feels more at home with the freaks of Freak Show than with anyone else.
Though Twisty is the most iconic image from Freak Show, it’s Dandy’s arc that brings Twisty’s story to its full potential. After Dandy tracks Twisty and watches him kidnap two girls, Dandy helps him put in a show for them. This leads to Twisty being killed by Edward Mordrake’s curse, and Dandy taking possession of Twisty’s mask.
While he had previously been a tantrum throwing bore, the mask gives Dandy a sense of power and urgency. From that moment on, neither he or the show looked back.
