7. Tanjiro Vs Rui - Demon Slayer
The newest fight on this list, but I couldn't not put it here. While that brand new nature does cost it a few notches due to its impact on the story overall being a unknown quantity, the fight is so damn good that that fact almost doesn't matter.
This fight sees our good demon slaying boy Tanjiro taking on a VERY powerful demon named Rui, who wants to kidnap Tanjiro's little sister to induct her into his heavily abusive pseudo family. Tanjiro, being a newbie to the whole demon killing business, is of course outmatched completely, but his need to protect the only family he has left keeps him going.
Like with studio Bones, this fight being animated by studio Ufotable guarantees that it's absolutely gorgeous, but even beyond that, the fight is incredibly creative. Rui's ability to control spider webs is at once a brilliant analogy for abusive parenting - visually comparing an abusive family to a spiderweb of razor wire that tears you apart when you try to escape - but it's also a brutally creative part of this already excellent fight.
Tanjiro pushes himself to heights that he never thought possible before in this battle. And while he technically loses the fight, he wins the argument. So while it's impossible to say currently how important this fight will be to the series going forward, I'm pretty confident that this fight has left a long lasting impression on our young protagonist.
